Google Ads Are Not Allowed Below Post Title

by Simrandeep on October 14, 2008

Most of the publishers place Google Adsense ads below post titles. They do so to get more clicks on the ads but this is not allowed as per Google Adsense TOS. That’s why most of the publishers get their accounts banned and they blame Google for it.

Google had made in clear in their Optimization Tips which says that “Ads shouldn’t be placed under a title or section heading in a way that implies that the ads are not ads.” Look at the screen shot below, the ad placement that is shown in this screen shot is not allowed.

Also look at Google Adsense program policies, which clearly say that Publishers participating in the AdSense program -

  • May not encourage users to click the Google ads by using phrases such as “click the ads,” “support us,” “visit these links,” or other similar language
  • May not place misleading labels above Google ad units – for instance, ads may be labeled “Sponsored Links” but not “Favorite Sites”
