Sometimes we want to copy text from images. The simple method that we use to copy text is by manually writing whole text from images in a notepad. This method is reliable only if we have to copy only few words but what if we have a large paragraph to copy from images? Manually writing whole text will consume a lot of our precious time. So here is a freeware application JOCR which enables users to convert images to text files easily.

JOCR enables you to capture the image on the screen and convert the captured image to text. It is useful to revive the protected files whose text can not be copied. JOCR enables you to copy text from any files and images on the screen such as protected Web pages, PDF files, error messages. The program offers several capture modes.

The recognizable languages by JOCR are Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish.

NOTE: JOCR requires Microsoft Office 2003 or higher version. If JCOR does not work, please manually install “Micorosoft Office Document Imaging” (MODI) that is included in the setup file of Microsoft Office. You can find MODI under “Office Tools” of the setup file.
