How To Withdraw Funds From PayPal To Bank Account In India

by Simrandeep on February 14, 2010

PayPal issues with Indian bank accounts are still not resolved ans PayPal has officially confirmed that it will take few more months for the situation to come under control. There is no exact date when the bank withdrawals from PayPal to Indian bank accounts will be resumed. In the meantime, if you want to withdraw funds to your bank account then you can use a service called as XOOM.

XOOM seems to be the best alternative to PayPal. From the last few days I was looking for a good alternative to PayPal. Some users have already transferred the money to their bank accounts using XOOM and according to @smartin and @mayurjango it took only 2 days for the withdrawal process. It seems quite better.

You will get three options with XOOM :

Cash Pickup : Pickup money in just minutes at a Punjab National Bank branch in India.

Bank Deposits : Same day Bank deposits are available to Punjab National Bank accounts and the faster bank deposits to any ban in India.

Home Delivery : Home delivery via Blue Dart is also available with XOOM.

The exchange rate of XOOM seems to be too good as compare to PayPal ( USD 1.00 = INR 46.0031 ) when I withdraw the money but their processing fees is higher. You can use the following coupon codes to avoid any processing fees when making payment from PayPal.

Coupon Codes : XOOM2010, FEBXOOM10 (These coupon codes are for one time use only)

Please make sure to :

  1. Provide your real Name, Address, E-mail ID and Phone number.
  2. Enter complete details about your bank account.

Disclaimer : Please try XOOM at your own risk. I shared this information after reading about this service at forums at some websites. I will not be held responsible for any loss or problem if you face any.

How much time does it takes to transfer?

It usually takes around 2 days for the transfer but if you are using PNB then you can withdraw your deposits the same day.

Hi

Xoom is not more working. My transfer was also cancelled, so i contacted them and got this email:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for choosing Xoom to send your money transfer!

Unfortunately, we have canceled and are in the process of refunding this transaction identified as Intra-India. Current regulatory restrictions are the reasons for the cancellation. There are options to withdrawal your funds via Paypal, see the following link to assist in this matter https://www.thepaypalblog.com/2010/02/an-open-letter-from-farhad-irani-on-the-situation-in-india/

We have no time frame, when these restrictions will be lifted. you may check back in 2-3 months.

Respectfully,

Xoom Compliance Group

I also called them on this number 01242575678 and she confirmed that they changed their policies :(

Any idea what to do now?

I have some money which is stucked. Not reversed and also not withdrawed

I contacted them to ask and got this answer.

Dear Sadaruddin C M,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I?m contacting you on behalf of Farhad
Irani regarding your email below. I would like to apologize for any
inconvenience this current issue has caused you.

In regards to your eBay fees, you should be able to pay those through
your PayPal account; you can usually set up a billing agreement with
eBay on your PayPal account in order to assist with making your payment
for eBay fees. Unfortunately we can not initiate payments for our
customers.

In regards to your inquiry, any withdrawals initiated on or after
February 8, 2010 are still pending with our bank due to the issue. If
we cannot fix the issue soon, we will explore other options which may
include reversing the funds back to your PayPal account.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.

Sincerely,
Jennifer
PayPal, an eBay Company

I think the best idea for people who needs money urgently is to send the money through xoom to any friend out of india and he can send it back through moneygram or western union.
