Blog’s Stats and Popular Posts – Two New Official Widgets Added To Blogger Blogs

by Simrandeep Singh on August 31, 2010

On July 1st, 2010 blogger launched the Blogger Stats feature to Blogger in Draft. After receiving the feedback from the users they’ve made some improvements to the stats feature and today they officially released two new widgets – Blog’s Stats and Popular Posts which you can add to your blog.

The two new widgets are going to be very helpful for blogger users as they do not need to use any other codes and scripts (Which slow down the loading speed of the blogs) to show their stats and popular posts to their readers.

Both of these widgets automatically take the data generated by the Blogger stats. To use these widgets, you can simply go to Design -> Page Elements and then click on “Add a Gadget“.

The Blog Stats’s widget displays the total pageviews of your blog. You can choose the style of the stat’s widget from various available styles.

The Popular Posts widget as the name suggests helps the blog author to quickly display the popular posts of his/her blog. This gadget also supports different styles and configurations.

Both of these widget are still available on Blogger in Draft.

If you are a blogger user, do check these widgets and let us know what you think about these two new widgets.

Yes, these widgets are added too late but its better to use these features now. Blogger is slowly becoming better blogging platform with free of cost.

Hmmm….Blogger is getting better day by day. All I wait is to let them change the comment system.

You are right Franklin. Blogger is getting better. I also want the change in comment system but I want one more change. I want the blogger to provide us a feature to insert meta description and keywords for each and every post like WordPress :)

SEO makes a lot of diff . That is the primary reason people migrate to paid wordpress. Blogger on the other hand is free and reliable hosting . nothing can go wrong with it …. no matter if you get 1 or 1 million visitor a day

But there is a way to insert meta description and keywords on every post on blogger, but it makes the template script lengthy.

Yes there is a way but that makes the template coding too lengthy. There is must be a way to insert data like WordPress.

I guess the widgets are cool for some users, but it has come very late. I host my own WP and tried many widgets out there and eventually wrote my own code for some of my widgets as I wanted to create my own options.

I feel sorry for blogger users as they are limited in so many ways, it just feels to me that they are missing out on many features.
