Whenever we talk about space or something related to that then first thing that pop-ups in our mind is NASA, US Space agency have loads of graphic rich apps and services that are solely designed to impart cosmic education or astronomy to users. But today I will be lining up 3 pretty useful non-NASA apps for your iDevices that will help users to know about cosmology and space. Here is a brief review of each of these apps:
This particular app is solely designed for you to see that how small our home planet is when compared with the other celestial objects. App has a zoomable model of entire Milky Way that eventually help users to visualize inter-stellar distances. But Exoplanet’s is mainly designed to provide users with a database of any extrasolar planets that are residing outside of our solar system. I liked the news feature as well because it provides an up-to-date about any findings or breakthrough. You can download Exoplanet for free from Apple App store.
Portal to the Universe
Plainly speaking this app actually brings Portal to the Universe(PTTU) homepage to your iDevice in a comprehensive mobile package. PTTU was established in 2009 to provide users with a single spot information and news portal about space and cosmology. The app provide users access to articles, excerpts from various astronomy blogs. The app is constantly updated thanks to multitude of sources that keep on posting contents on it. PTTU for iOS is available as a free download from App store.
I personally like this app a lot, mainly due to the reason that it provides users loads of information about space and astronomy in the form of images. It collates almost 1,000 dazzling images related to landing and launches of space-crafts, space and images that are acquired from telescopes like Hubble. Cosmic Discoveries homepage is a mosaic, with hundreds of smaller pictures morphing together to form an image of Saturn.
Well if you like astronomy and star-gazing is your hobby, then I recommend you to definitely check out these apps and drop-in your feedback.
