Music has always been a way to express who you truly are. Now that the Holidays are over, many of you most likely have received new phones as a gift and are now wondering how you can personalize it by selecting your favorite music track as a ringtone. I decided that it would be helpful to share a couple of free ringtone conversion methods with you. Most importantly I tried to put together a list of online tools that are perfectly capable of doing the job and do not cost a penny to use at the same time. Please note that all these tools are based on Flash and are similar to each other in some way.
I placed this web application first for multiple reasons. This is by far the fastest ringtone conversion tool I ever used. First of all, it is very simple and convenient to use and the whole conversion process is easy as 1-2-3. Secondly, all phone models and widely used file extensions are supported. Unlike other sites, MeloFania.com does not enforce their users to register. Thirdly, this web application also features a set of basic editing functions, such as cutting a song piece you want and adjusting ringtone volume levels. Last but not least, you will find an impressive collection of ready to download ringtones on MeloFania.com. Latest popular ringtones are constantly added to the ringtone library and quite possibly you will find there something you might like.
This is another online ringtone conversion tool you can use. It has 3 different editing modes that could easily confuse an inexperienced user. This tool supports mp3, ogg and wma audio file extensions and has a 15MB file upload limit. Even though it is richer in customization and editing options, it also is more complex at the same time.
Alternatively you can convert your favorite tracks into ringtones on SmartMP3.net’s online tool. I have played around this tool for a while. Although it does not offer any expert customization options, it is fairly simple and does the job. It has a couple of disadvantages I would like to warn you about. First of all, uploading your tracks takes much longer than on other sites. It took me around 10 minutes to upload and convert a 7MB track, whereas on MeloFania.com it got uploaded in less than a minute. Lastly, their website is cluttered with ads that can be annoying sometimes.
MP3Cut.net is a really simple ringtone conversion tool. I might even say it is too simple in some way. You just simply upload your .mp3 file, crop it and download. 3 straightforward actions and your ringtone is ready to download. Site is clean and is not filled up with ads all over the place.
This one is slightly different as others mentioned. Video2ringtone.com allows you to convert your favorite YouTube videos into ringtones. The conversion process is really simple and all you have to do is find the song you want as a ringtone on YouTube, copy video URL and paste it into video2ringtone.com. Although this tool is good and does not require you to have an actual .mp3 file, it has one disadvantage. Make sure you only use short videos (preferably under 3 minutes), otherwise the conversion process will take too much time.
Even though these converters are very similar to each other, it is better for you to try them all and decide for yourself, which ringtone converter is best suitable for you. That’s it for today, folks! It is time to get rid of that annoying ringtone you have right now and personalize your mobile phone with your favorite ringtones!
