8 Simple Tricks to Make Your Guest Posts Undeniable

by Aman Singh on July 25, 2012

Guest posting is the best way anyone can make his/her presence on the web. Guest posting can be handy in generating more and more links, and visitors to your blog. Guest posting is one art every bloggers needs to learn. While many bloggers have the habit to make their guest post appealing to the editor, there are also those bloggers who are afraid to submit guest posts as they fear to be declined by the editor. So, these tips will help you to make sure that whenever you submit a guest post, it is published!

undeniable guest posts
Guest bloggers who submit their guest post to any nice authority blogs get it published very soon! How do they do it? Do they give bribe to the editors of the blog. Why is it that only your guest posts are denied or too much edited. What are you doing wrong?

Actually you aren’t. All you have to improve in your posts is their presentation and some simple efforts that you already knew but never applied.

So here are the tricks. Just follow them and you will know what can make your posts undeniable.

Guest Blogger

1. No mistakes, whatever happens :

A guest post is what a blogger with his really good PR blog will think of your “unknown writing skills”. The blogger don’t know you already, the post you publish is your first impression on him. You just have to be careful with your spelling and grammar. And, if you don’t know, bloggers hate bad grammar and more do their readers.

To avoid this mistake, you can simply re-check your article before submitting it. More and more bloggers today only accept guest posts through email. And, by default, you cannot change or edit any thing in the article you just sent. So, take your time and then think of submitting.

2. Don’t tell your readers, but discuss with them :

This is not a very familiar thing to all the guest bloggers. But, those who know it never fail. You should always write the article keeping in mind which things your readers might have in their mind. do they have a question after reading this paragraph.

Why not answer it. Articles which are written in the ‘I’ tone never do wonders. You should use the word ‘You’ more than ‘I’. That’s because that will make them feel like you are talking to them. And this is true!

Suppose, you wrote “6 bitter facts i discovered during guest blogging”. This article heading can be nicely rewritten as “6 bitter facts you will discover while guest blogging”. This is not too much change, but it works fine on readers.

3. Let them understand your tone :

Why don’t write in a tone that works. Guest bloggers many times end up discussing something they readers fail to understand. It is in our habit, we write things like we are saying it. But, maybe this is the problem. Because we don’t understand that the reader is reading it that way.

If the editor of the blog reads your post and doesn’t understand the sentences properly, how his audience will? Now, you can improve it in one simple step. re-reading the whole article after its written.

This will help you understand your own tone properly and you can also improve it wherever needed.

4. Proper 1st paragraph will do it all :

The first paragraph of the article is many times under estimated by bloggers. That is because they are fond of writing raw content. While, the first paragraph is the one which decides if your reader will read it all or not.

This is also known as “The Lede” in journalism language. The lede is actually the paragraph which should describe what your article is about. If the first paragraph fails to do so. you have lost half of your readers at that point. You should always make your first paragraph more and more focused around the article and the readers.

If the editor of that blog doesn’t even find your first paragraph important, why would he publish it?  That’s right, he won’t. So, do something better with your first paragraph and make it more informative about your post.

5. Don’t hurt their link policy :

All of the guest blogs have their own policies about what type of links do they tolerate and what type they don’t. Many blogs only allow two or one link of your own in their article.

While, there are also blogs which can accept more links until they are relevant to the article. So, you should always check and read the link policy carefully as you might not hurt the link policy unwillingly.

An unknown person never tolerates being conned by some other unknown guest bloggers. It will be good for you if you follow the link policy to the point.

6. Write Headlines that do “Magic”! :

Yes, they do. Headlines are the first part in the post and also more important than anything else in your post. The post that you write is never read to that much extent if your write dead headlines. Actually, writing headlines is not a hard task to do.

But, their part is much more important than anything else. Why, because…… You go to a blog, read some of its post headlines and if.. you don’t find something that is interesting. You leave immediately. So, what did you read in the whole post? Only the headline. What would have made you stay or leave? The headline.

So, that’s the importance for writing a very interesting headline. You can do all that by just adding words like awesome, eye-jerking, never thought, etc. to your headline + rethinking them! The editor will bury your guest post if he finds the headline dumb. Making that headline seo optimized will add to your chances. Just ensure that your headline only conveys the same thing that your post does.

7. Your Guest Post can also be List Post :

If you ever think that the post you are writing is not completely packed up. Why don’t you create a list post. This would rather make your task easy to write and your readers will find it much easier to read. And both go home happy.

By the way, a post is really nice when it is freshly written in paragraphs and blockquotes. But, making the post a list post can help your readers to understand the post quickly.

So, these were the tips  that will enhance the chances of your guest post to be published. If you do as written, this will surely make your guest post undeniable. Moreover, you can write the post much cleaner, increase the accuracy of the discussion and then its up to the editor.

Keep writing, have fun!
