Top 5 Utilities to Record Skype Calls Automatically

by Sarvesh Shrivastava on February 8, 2013

Skype is undoubtedly one of the coolest software which is being used by around 700 Million users. People use it regularly either for business, chatting with friends and family around the globe. Because of its awesome functionalists  it has quickly became the favorite voice and video call client for a wide range of users.

However there might be situation when you want to record a Skype conversation. But unfortunately there is no such facility available in Skype. It doesn’t come with any inbuilt call recording software. So, here we are with some cool ways by which you can very easily record your skype calls.

1- Pamela

Pamela is a free tool and it allows you to record calls easily and effectively using Skype. Here’s What Pamela can do for you?

-Allows you to record calls

-Chat recording

-Automatic recording of calls.

-Conference calls.

-Answering machine

However the free version recording is limited to 15mins. So, if your conversation is more than than it, you can have the premium version only for 25$ or else you can download the free tool called MP3 Skype recorder.

2- MP3 Skype recorder

MP3 Skype recorder is yet another call recorder. It can record simultaneous Skype Calls and store them in separate files. Other features include Skypeout Calls, automatic call recording and can split the caller and the called.

Also it can save it into different files and the most cool thing about MP3 Skype recorder is that it’s absolutely free with NO LIMITS. The interface is also pretty cool and there is easy integration with Skype conference recording.

3- IM capture

If you are looking for a utility that works on both Mac and windows then IM capture is what i would recommend to you. The conversations are recorded in MP4,WMA or AAC format.

Along with the features told  above you can also start and stop recording any time which is a pretty cool feature. You can also create a CD from a saved call which you can further distribute or save for future reference. It has the ability to record calls automatically and is easy to use. The tool will cost you 50$.

4- HOT Recorder

This tool is yet another top tool to record calls on Skype. It is capable of recording calls of any length. This utility has a trial version which will record conversations for two minutes.

The full version of HOT recorder costs 15$. You can record calls not only in Skype but also with other services like Google voice and others.

This is an excellent Audio and Video recorder. Supertintin is the cheapest video call recorder and has a lot of feature in its premium version. You can record the call conversation in HD. It is easy to use and has a bunch of features such as Picture to Picture shape, Side by side shape, Remote only shape.

I still don’t have idea why Skype doesn’t implement call record functionality. Maybe we could see this modification in Skype in the coming version but till then you can use the above utilities.

There are lot of other tools available on the web which allows you to record call conversations but the above list is about the best utilities currently available. Go ahead and check them out.

Awesome list of Skype recording tools, I was thinking about doing some Skype interviews in the future, but still deciding whether to do Google Hangout or Skype, which do you prefer?

Awesome Tools. Since I do many interviews, I was looking for a backup way to save some calls and video calls as mp3′s or whatever. I can’t wait to try these out.
