Last month when I made TricksDaddy a multi-author blog, one of my contributor reported me that the image uploading feature is not working for him. When I looked into the matter I found that it’s working fine for me and this problem is only with the contributors. If you are going to start a multi-author blog then you may also face this problem. In this tutorial, I’m going to explain how to enable image uploading and other functions for your contributors.
Follow the steps given below:
- First of all download and install User Role Editor WordPress plugin. Click here to download role editor plugin.
- Now once you have installed the plugin, go to User Role Editor under Users tab in the sidebar of your WordPress dashboard.
- Under Roles page you can assign various roles to your contributors as well as to your administrators, editors, authors and subscribers. To enable image uploading for contributors, check on Upload files.
- That’s all. Now your contributors can easily upload files to their posts.
You can use this plugin to enable or disable other roles for all type of users of your WordPress blog.
I had the same problem when I opened my blog for guest posts. I had to ask a friend who directed me to the plugin. I think WP should fix this in the next release, but the plugin has so much more to offer with roles and responsibilities.
I’m sure others have also come across the same problem.

Thanks a million! I needed a solution such as this plugin pretty quickly, and it looks like it’s perfect for what I need. I wish this was built-in to WordPress by default, but whatever. Thanks for the post!
