Nokia today announced its most inexpensive 3G phone which promises to bring fast data services to millions of people who’ve never had them before. Nokia C2-01 is a classic feature phone with the Series 40 operating system.
Nokia C2-01 Specifications and Features
Nokia C2-01 is an impressive phone specially for those who can’t afford expensive 3G phones. It comes with 2 inch QVGA color screen 320 x 240 resolution. The phone has some impressive features like 3.2 megapixel camera and a 2 inch screen.
The device supports expandable memory upto 16 GB which is enough for storing a large amount of data. Unlike Nokia C2-00 which was announced earlier, Nokia C2-01 is a single SIM device.
The device comes with Nokia Messaging for email and instant messaging. SMS and chat messages are now displayed in a conversational (threaded) view. You get the Ovi Store for new apps and Ovi Music for tunes. In selected markets, the Nokia C2-01 will come with the Ovi Life Tools service.
The main disadvantage that I found in this device is that it doesn’t have a front camera so it can’t be used for video calling. The advantage of 3G in this device is only for faster internet access.
Nokia C2-01 Price in India
Nokia C2-01 is expected to be priced at around Rs.4300 and it will be available in first quarter of 2011 in India.
we need budget phones , but atleast they can give a front facing camera …. without it , what is the use of 3G
Sourish
hmmm you are right Sourish. I also prefer 3G phones with front camera only. But I think people who want to surf internet only with faster speed will go for such mobile phones as these phones are cheap as compared to phones with front camera.
Wow this Nokia Phone looks very attractive and i hope Middle Class Consumers could afford Nokia C2-01 Phone
This one could help people for faster browsing with less cost.
Agree with you Bimal. People who can’t afford costly mobile phones can go for this one.
People who never use the video feature of Skype and YM (i.e., people like me) will love this phone. First, it rids us of the cost of a feature that we never want to use. Second, it gives us camera-shy folks an honest excuse for weaseling out of “let’s do a video call†invitations: “Sorry, my phone doesn’t support it.â€
You are like me. I also don’t use the video feature of Skype and YM. I’m still waiting for Vodafone to launch 3G services in our area so that I can make my first video call to someone 😀
Yeah this video calling thing is still a bit too new for old folks like us! 🙂
wow!! its a nice 3G cell but only use of internet, don’t have any front camera, and HSDPA for high speed internet…
Nokia brought a beautiful mobiles. Nokia should bring low price mobile for asia with dual sim which will active at a time so a consumer can call in low price rate. But I do not that the non 3G mobile will be supported in 3G and 4G Network.
Wow..now I’m using Nokia C2-01..It have alot of awesome features. But the bad thing is it don’t have any front camera..so that i can’t make any video call
Guys I M Using This Phone, Its Awesome, Camera Quality Is Good. Internet Speed Is Nice. But I Hate It’s E-mail Function, It Does’nt Aleart Me, When I M Recieving An Email. Allover Its A Good Phone, In The Budget.
