A lot of PayPal users in India are facing problems in withdrawing money to their bank accounts these days. These are the users who tried to withdraw the money around 27th and 28th Jan or after that. Few days back when I tried to verify my PayPal account then the money got credit into my account within 2 days only. But now almost every Indian PayPal user is facing issue with bank withdrawal.
If your handles large amounts of money you should try using this money counting machine amazon is great to avoid human errors and count the amounts correctly.
I tried to withdraw money on 27th Jan (Around $160) but the money is not credited into my bank account till now nor it is reverted back into my PayPal account. PayPal is showing status as “completed”.
The money withdrawal usually takes 5-7 working days to complete the transaction to bank accounts. But it’s almost 12 days now and I am still waiting for the money to be credited into my bank account.
When I contacted the PayPal team, they gave me the following explanation:
Dear Simrandeep Singh,
Thank you for contacting PayPal.
I reviewed your account and I was able to see your withdrawal on Jan 27,
2010 amounting to Rs.7,204.35 INR ($160.52 USD). Please note that
Electronic Transfers to your bank account usually take 5-7 business days
to process. Holidays and weekends are not recognized as business days
for most banking facilities, which may result in a delay in your banking
transactions. The status of your withdrawal is ‘Completed’, which means it has
completed through the PayPal system. Please note:* PayPal has no control over the length of time it takes your bank
to post their credits, and we do not receive confirmation when your
credit has been received by your bank
* Usually, if there is a problem with the transfer completing, it is
rejected back to PayPal and the funds are reversed back into the PayPal
account
* At this time, this transaction has not been rejected back to us.
Therefore, we suggest that you contact your bank and ask to speak with
someone who works with Electronic Funds Transfers. This Department
should be able to verify that your deposit was received.
* If you are unable to locate the deposit at your bank, and the
status of the transaction is still listed as completed, we can initiate
a trace on these funds once 14 business days have passed. In this case,
please contact us and our Customer Service will provide all the
information to initiate the trace procedure. Thanks for sharing your concerns with us and I appreciate the
opportunity to assist you. I’ll be glad to hear from you if you need
clarification as we try our best to give you immediate answers, or
kindly visit www.PayPal.com/101 for more information. Thank you for
choosing PayPal for your online payment needs. We appreciate your
business.Sincerely,
Violeta Joy

They cleared it that PayPal has no control over the length of time it takes your bank to post their credits. For those who are in need of money, poor credit loans is a great choice for you.
Conclusion : If you are like me who is waiting for the money to be credited into your bank account from PayPal, then the only solution is that you should wait for 14 business days from the date of initialization of payment. After 14 days, contact the PayPal team so that they can initiate a trace on your funds.
UPDATE : You can read my post on How To Withdraw Funds From PayPal To Bank Account In India to withdraw funds to your bank accounts quickly. Its tried and working method. I was able to link my PayPal to my business bank account. I’f you’d like to the the same then make sure to check the Atlantic union bank website.
If you have any other solution, Please share it with us so that other users can take benefit of it 🙂

I faced the same problem in Feb 2009. They send these mails to everybody asking about fund transfer to Indian Bank. Currently they are facing an issue as they have mentioned in their mail to me. Last year they sent me 2 mails saying it normally takes time and if you don’t trace funds in 14 days, please contact. Suddenly they got a solution and then they sent mail saying they are sorry for the inconvenience caused and now there won’t be further delay.
electronic transfer takes time :)))
I am also facing problems now. My transactions got reversed. I saw members at the DP forum talking about their problems. Hope this gets resolved very soon. Also, unable to withdraw, its just a nightmare. I hope they make a public statement atleast.

I withdraw funds on 27 Jan, 1 Feb, 3 Feb, But Payment still not deposited in my bank account?
What the hell is going on with paypal?
Did anyone has any Idea?
well lets wait and watch. but i ran out of fund 🙁
I guess they should give green signal to those paypal users who are verified and have attached their credit card with paypal.
This way both the bank and RBI are sure the user is very much in their control panel and can be traced at any time….
I lost $126 due to paypal. My transaction got reversed :(.I received my funds on feb 1st and on 5th it got reversed

same problem ! Big Trouble. i have 32000 request on 27 th last month and still waiting !
can anybody knows, how to contact paypal for the withdrawal delay issue.
Same here. My INR30K+ is still stuck!
Hi guys,
Don’t worry. Everything would be settled by 13th Feb,2010.
How can you be so sure about this ? Have you got any official information ? 😀
Hi Devon,
Please check paypal official blog. here
they don’t know when that will solved. I lost my $400 in reversed transaction. i just got reversed transaction today. I lost my $400.
whats going on in paypal?
I made a withdrawal request of $300 to my Bank account on 7th Feb.
2 days after i.e. on 9th when I checked my paypal account, the status of transaction was “reversed”. Also, $20 were deducted during the reversal.
Then I checked if it was reversed from the main bank, but I got to know that it didnt even reached the Bank. May be it got reversed from RBI (NEFT problem).
The only thing that is frustating me is that Paypal should notify its users about such issues. If this was the thing, I would not have withdrew funds to my bank account, and would have waited till the issues were solved.
Also, $20 might be nothing for them, but for me (and for any other struggling freelancer like me), it takes our sweat and blood flow from headline to waistline to earn a those single $s.
Saagar,
Same way i request of $1000 to my bank account for 5 time. they deduct $80 for eac. so i lost my $400.
Aeyi Sagar, All is well munna, I lost $600 in a transaction.
I also lost mine $40 in reverting process. I checked with mine bank account that if they revert the amount but there is no such any issue with bank. I think the issue with RBI and Paypal.
Can anyone help here that is there any way that we can get the lost amount.
hello @Sagar and @artoon
I faced same problem. Withdrawal request was on 28th contacted to paypal on 3rd and got the similar (wait 14 days) reply. Today money got reversed and i lost 28$ due to conversion rates.
I am not gonna tolerate this loss and I have emailed them to make good the losses. It’s nothing for them but its much more valuable for us.
Good news!
Paypal gonna refund the fees charged within 24-72 hours.
recent update-
That’s bad. PayPal should have at least warned its Indian users beforehand.. !

Did you get refund of fluctuation and withdraw charges. Actually I also withdraw on Jan31 and amount reverted yesterday into paypal account but the reverted amount is less than $40 to original amount. I did not get the difference of $40 yet.

THIS ISSUE SEEMS IS GETTING BIGGER … IT WILL GET RESOLVED NOT BEFORE JUNE 2010 ..
Like most of you, a huge amount of mine was got stuck with Paypal. After reading many forums and blogs I came accross Xoom.com. Belive me or not It worked for me and my Paypal money is now coming smoothly in my bank account. All within 24 hours. Here is the steps which I followed :
1) DAY-1 (Wednesday) —Registered Xoom.com with same id as of Paypal () (Its Free).
2) Logged in to Xoom and started sending money.
3) Added $1000 in the send money box.
4) Selected the bank deposit option and clicked next.
5) Filled up all of my Axis Bank account information(same like Paypal).
6) It showed me that I will be charged $29.9 for this transaction (I haven’t used the coupon code).
7) So, final amount to be debited is $1029.9.
8) Also, it showed me right there the exchange rate and the calculated INR value for the total money I am going to send (The exchange rate was far better than Paypal).
9) Selected payment mode as Paypal .
10) Confirmed the details.
11) Xoom took me to Paypal for authorization.
12) Authorizeed the payment and clicked pay.
13) Within few seconds my Paypal account got debited for the $1029.9.
14) And here in Xoom account the transaction status changed to Partner Processing within 30 Min.
15) DAY-2 (Thursday)— Got the Money in my bank account (Same INR that was showed by Xoom).
I know that Xoom charges are quite high but believe me they do deserve that. I am very much satisfied for their service and tons of thanks to them.
This has worked for me and I am just sharing my experiance with you all. I will not be held responsible if the same didn’t work for you.
Hey thanks for really a nice comment. Users like you encourage us to write useful posts for our readers 🙂
I am also totally satisifed with XOOM. Their service is really nice and I was not charged anything for transferring amount as I used the promo code 🙂
Hello Suman,
I also try to transfer money from xoom to personal pickup money. so xoom cancel my request. and they said me that Indian can not send money inside india?
How you did that? can you please give me some idea?
Thanks,
Alpesh
I deposited the money into my bank account. You can follow the complete procedure in the above comment by Suman
My withdrawal request for approx $170 dated 11-Feb-2010 is “Completed” as per transaction status but money has still not reached my Bank account. I was aware about issue but overconfident as I was able to place a withdrawal request 🙁 and my account type is “Premier”. Problem is with the Country I live ? Or with the popular Payment processor ? Time to look for better options now 🙂
You will soon get the money back in your PayPal account. Then you can transfer the money to your bank account using XOOM.

Hi All
I’m a freelance tutor and got stuck with a similar problem like all of you. I placed a withdrawal of 610$ on 9th Feb and was requiring the money for very emergency medical issue. But now it got stuck somewhere I don’t know and I’m in debt of 35K from a private money lender.
I searched the net like a mad person and found nothing which made me feel that no help is out there and all I got was automated letters from PayPal which shrugged of any responsibilities from their shoulders.
Until I stumbled upon this blog which gave me moral confident and the post by “Simran” , “Suman” et al were really encouraging. Infact I’ll go through this blog everyday and will update if my money ever returns.
Boarders what do you think will that happen I’ve lost all hope …..
Hello,
I called paypal and their customer care div. personally reversed my payments of $200.
do not worry.
That was very comforting to hear, but I’ve a bill of Rs 735 caling them 🙁 and all they talk about is different paypal products before reaching the agent and then he repeats everything which I already know. What should I do , will waiting be of any help ?
hello,
I have similar problems like all of you. I have put withdrawal request on 11th Feb and still today, I have NOT got any reverse entry in my paypal account.
Generally how many days it will take ? can anyone say about this ?
Paypal is just giving automated answers.
I made withdrawal request of around USD $ 1000 on 9th feb 2010 and till date I havent received any money in my bank a/c. I received response from paypal that they can initiate trace after 14 business days. Now after 14 business days when I asked them to initiate trace I received response that I need to Fax my physical bank statements first to initiate trace. Strange. I have written 3-4 times to support but none of them mentioned anything that this is occurring due to paypal problems in India. They just mentioned they need to initiate trace and now required my physical bank staement from last 1 month.
For those who did not Know yet, XOOM STOPPED [ SUSPENDED ] Intra Indian fund transfers. They do not do any mode of transfer like, bank deposit, cash pickup or cheque delivery . I have been using them for about 3 years now and today for the first time my transfer got canceled and re-funded.
I called their customer care 3 times to speak with 3 different personnel ( I always do that ), and all had the same story to tell – RBI change in Policy- Basically RBI screwed all freelancers In India who depends on Paypal.
Can anyone please confirm that moneybookers is available still for same purpose without any such problems? anyone used it recently for funds transfers in India ?
Hi,
What’s the original issue between PayPal and RBI? When it’s goint to resolve any ETA?
Hello everyone, happy news— Now RBI has allowed to start withdrawal service. Coming march 3rd (Wednesday) we can use local bank withdrawal service. Pls see the below link http://www.thepaypalblog.com………. Lot of thanks to you paypal!… HAPPPY..INFORM TO EVERYONE..
SEE THE BELOW MAIL…. I got from paypal
We have been diligently working with the RBI and our business
partners to resume Indian bank withdrawals for the thousands
of Indian businesses who depend on PayPal to sell their goods
or services in the global marketplace.
Today, we are happy to announce that the RBI has allowed us
to continue local bank withdrawals for settlements for exports
of goods and services. We are currently making changes to
comply with Indian regulations for settlements for exports of
goods and services, and we anticipate that, as of Wednesday,
March 3rd, customers will be able to use our
bank withdrawal service.
As part of the changes, you will be required to fill out a
new field entitled ‘Export Code’ when you request a withdrawal.
This information is required under the current laws of India in
order to identify the nature of cross-border merchant transactions.
On Monday, March 1st, we will be back in touch with specific
instructions on how you can move your money into your bank account.
Moving forward, the RBI has told us that PayPal needs specific
approvals to allow personal remittances to India, which we
currently do not have. Until we get these approvals, personal
payments into India will remain suspended. However, if you are
an exporter, you will continue to be able to use the PayPal
service for payments of goods and services. In fact, with the
changes we are making to our system, PayPal is now set to be a
more powerful engine for exporters in India. With purpose codes
for export transactions and FIRCs (Foreign Inward Remittance
Certificates), you should now be able to get the export
related benefits you seek.
You can check the PayPal blog for additional updates.

We thank you for your business and for your patience during
the past few weeks.
Sincerely,
PayPal
Recent issues with PayPal withdrawals to Indian Banks & more over payments just randomly being reversed back to the senders will have a deep impact on PayPal’s reputation. It raises so many questions like (THIS MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS):
A) Should we trust PayPal in future?
ANS: ABSOLUTELY NO
B) Are they really concerned about our Money?
ANS: ABSOLUTELY NO, After a long period of two weeks we receive an apology letter stating that “We are sorry we goofed up opps! and stuff like “Your money just got sacked since this is nothing serious to us we are just doing a drill of playing a game with your hard earned money
C) Is RBI responsible for this?
ANS: UNQUESTIONABLY MAYBE, So, Question is why this is happening in India and nowhere else? Question is why we are being kept behind curtains and dark? Question is why Moneybookers and other Payment systems are working but PayPal is not? you just want to exclude the RBI out of this since they are least concerned with us. Everyone failed here! RBI off course you cant expect them to give you a comforting truth so a comforting lie should suffice you! And PayPal Ow man no shit a multinational company failing to inform and notify of an issue of this magnitude. That was an AWESOME combination of pure frustrating, destroying trust & spreading chaos.
D) So what does PayPal tell us now?
ANS: “We are sorry, but your valuable to us so please give us another opportunity to goof up and play some more engaging games with your money†and “We just love to make more profits by giving you a pathetic exchange rateâ€
D) What now?
ANS: DTA (Don’t Trust Anyone) Get your sleeves up against them and find your own ways to get paid over any other medium that serves better, communicates better and keep them in plenty. If one fails other should work out.
Ive let all my clients know about this issue and advised them (in advance unlike PayPal) to switch over to some other Payment system which is reliable, responsible and does the main thing “ACTION†at PAR. The truth will probably be dead and berried RIP about what happened because the shame and disgust they bring upon themselves is apocalyptic now.

paypal is trustable or not
It’s amazing. I withdrew again, this time a larger of $500. The withdrawal, which I made on 10th early morning, to my utter disbelief, got completed on 11th late evening itself, and I had the money in the bank!
Is it that the bigger the amount, the sooner it reaches your account!! 😉

I tried to add my sbi debit atm card but its not accepting it . please guide me I need the paypal very urgently

You can’t use your PayPal account to make purchases online unless you link a Credit Card to it. You can’t link your debit card. You have to apply for Credit Card first.
Hey, i’m from Romania and I’m facing the same issue. I did a withdrawal on February 5th of $150, not much, but I needed them quickly. It usually takes 2-3 business day to clear out, but not even now (after 14 days) I don’t see them in my bank account.
I did another withdrawal of $200 on February 11th (friday) and it got to me on February 14th (monday), but the other one never reached me ..
My bank says that they don’t see anything on their servers, and Paypal is sending me email templates ..
